Community forum

/forum is one place, not two. Every topic is either a Question or a Discussion, and you choose which when you post.

KindUse it forWhat it looks like
QuestionSomething with a definite answer"Why do my connectome weights go NaN after export?"
DiscussionEverything else — methods, papers, the field"Is anyone fitting E/I balance to resting-state FC?"

On a question, replies are voted on and you mark the one that solved your problem, so the thread stays useful to the next person who hits the same wall. A discussion simply stays open — nothing gets accepted, and anyone can weigh in as often as the conversation needs.

The forum

Posts of both kinds share one list, one search box and one set of tags. The filter dropdown narrows to Questions or Discussions, and — for questions — to Solved or Unsolved.

Reading needs no account. Every post and reply is public, and search engines index them.

Post for the first time

  1. Create an account — name, email, password.
  2. Confirm your email address. Until you do, the forum shows a banner

offering to send you a verification email — click it, then open the link. Confirming grants the karma needed to post, and is what keeps spam off the forum.

  1. Choose New Post, pick Question or Discussion, and write.

Writing a post

Your first post is reviewed by a moderator before it appears. That is a spam gate, not a judgement on your post — everything you post afterwards goes live immediately.

A question thread

Every post carries a vote control. On a question, the asker also marks one reply as accepted. Signed out you can still read the whole thread; the sidebar spells out what an account would let you do.

Got the kind wrong? Edit the post and switch it — the choice is a property of the topic, not something you are stuck with.

Write a question people can answer

  • Search first. The answer may already be here or in the platform guide.
  • One question per post, with a title that states the actual problem.
  • Say which model or experiment you started from, which backend, and which TVBO version.
  • Paste the exact error rather than a paraphrase, in a code block.
  • Say what you expected and what happened instead.

Tag your post — schema, dynamics, connectome, backends, experiment-builder, knowledge-graph, python-package, api — so people watching that topic find it.

Karma, briefly

Karma is the forum's permission system: it grows as your posts are upvoted and accepted, and unlocks more abilities as it does.

You can…Karma

Post without moderation5
Flag spam or abuse10

Answering well is the fastest way up: an upvoted answer is worth 10, and an accepted one 15.

Moderation

Platform administrators moderate the forum and are notified by email when a post is waiting for review. Found something that shouldn't be there? Flag it, and it goes into the same queue.
